Riding the Wave: Finding Inner Peace in the Flow of Life

In the ocean of existence, waves rise and fall - moments of joy cresting to meet challenges that crash into our shores. The wave is life itself, ever-changing and constant, a paradox that invites us not to resist but to ride.

Acceptance and Presence

Ram Dass taught us the beauty of “Being Here Now.” Riding the wave isn’t about controlling the tide; it’s about surrendering to its rhythm. Resistance creates suffering. Acceptance allows us to move with grace, even in the face of uncertainty.

The Wave as a Teacher

Every wave has something to teach us. The gentle ones remind us to savor moments of peace, while the tumultuous ones test our patience and resilience. Both are sacred. As we ride, we learn to trust the greater ocean—the divine flow that connects us all.

Practical Steps to Ride the Wave

1   Pause: When overwhelmed, stop and breathe. Feel the present moment as it is, without judgment.

2   Observe: Notice the wave—its height, its force. Is it fear? Joy? Grief? Naming the wave lessens its power over you.

3   Trust: Know that every wave rises and falls. Nothing is permanent, and peace is always within reach.

Healing, Growing, Loving

In riding the wave, we heal the fear of drowning in our emotions, grow into deeper resilience, and open our hearts to love—love for the moment, for ourselves, and for the divine rhythm of life.

About Shoshannah

Hi, my name is Shoshannah Phoenix. I work with individuals, couples, and families, especially where things feel complicated, tangled, or hard to make sense of.

My work uniquely blends talking therapy, my own mindscaping, functional medicine, cutting edge genetic testing, and natural holistic solutions to whatever ails you. I help people understand how their nervous system, body, thoughts, emotions, and relationships are connected - and how these patterns shape health, behaviour, and connection over time.

Many of the people I work with have complex or long-standing challenges. They may be living with anxiety, emotional overwhelm, OCD, trauma, chronic stress, complex health issues, neurodivergence, relationship difficulties, or patterns that seem to repeat across generations. Rather than looking at one piece in isolation, I work with the whole picture.

This is gentle, collaborative work. We move at a pace that feels safe and manageable, working with your system rather than pushing it. Whether we are working one-to-one or with couples and families, my role is to help you understand yourself more clearly, feel more regulated and supported, and find a way forward that truly fits you.

I am right here… how can I help you?
