Knowing Your Quality Of Being

Knowing Your Quality of Being by Shoshannah Phoenix

In the constant motion of life, we often find ourselves measuring success by what we do - our accomplishments, our productivity, or the roles we play. But beneath all the doing lies something far more essential: our quality of being. This is the essence of who we are when all external layers are stripped away - the energy, presence, and authenticity we bring into every moment.

Knowing your quality of being is not just a philosophical exercise; it’s a transformative journey that touches every aspect of your life, from how you connect with others to how you heal, grow, and love yourself.

What Is Your Quality of Being?

Your quality of being is the state of your inner world. It’s the way your presence resonates in a room, the energy you carry in your interactions, and the lens through which you experience life.

Some questions to explore:

• Are you calm and centered, or restless and anxious?

• Do you radiate kindness, or do you feel weighed down by judgment?

• Are you open and curious, or closed and resistant?

Unlike external achievements, your quality of being doesn’t rely on circumstances. It’s cultivated through awareness, intention, and choice.

Why It Matters

Your quality of being is the foundation of your relationships, health, and personal fulfillment.

Relationships: People don’t just respond to what you say or do - they respond to the energy you bring. When your quality of being is rooted in peace, love, or authenticity, it naturally fosters trust and connection.

Healing: A harmonious inner state supports the body’s natural healing processes. When you reduce stress and cultivate joy or gratitude, you create fertile ground for physical and emotional well-being.

Fulfillment: True happiness comes not from doing more but from being fully present and aligned with your authentic self.

How to Discover Your Quality of Being

1. Pause and Observe

Set aside time each day to simply be. This could be through meditation, journaling, or quiet contemplation. Notice the thoughts, emotions, and sensations that arise without judgment.

2. Tune Into Your Energy

Ask yourself:

• How does my energy feel today?

• What emotions am I carrying?

• Am I moving through the world with ease or resistance?

3. Identify Your Core Values

Your quality of being is closely tied to your values. Are you living in alignment with what matters most to you- love, compassion, integrity, joy? Or are you allowing external pressures to dictate your state?

4. Release What Doesn’t Serve You

Old habits, limiting beliefs, and unresolved emotions can cloud your quality of being. Practices like breathwork, therapy, or energy healing can help you let go of what no longer aligns with your true self.

5. Set Intentions

Each day, choose the quality you want to embody. Whether it’s calm, gratitude, courage, or compassion, remind yourself of this intention throughout the day.

Cultivating Higher States of Being

Just as you can strengthen your body through exercise, you can elevate your quality of being through consistent practice:

Gratitude: Regularly reflect on what you’re thankful for to shift your energy toward positivity and abundance.

Mindfulness: Engage fully in the present moment. When you’re truly present, your quality of being naturally improves.

Kindness: Acts of kindness, whether toward yourself or others, elevate your state of being and ripple outward.

Connection with Nature: Time in nature helps you recalibrate, grounding your energy and connecting you to the greater whole.

Self-Compassion: Be gentle with yourself, especially when you fall short of your intentions. Growth is a journey, not a destination.

Living from Your Quality of Being

When you prioritise your quality of being, life transforms. Challenges become opportunities to practice patience or resilience. Relationships deepen as your presence becomes more authentic. Even mundane tasks are infused with purpose when approached from a calm and loving state.

Your quality of being is the true measure of a life well-lived - not the things you havve accumulated or achieved, but the energy you have shared, the connections you have fostered, and the moments you have been truly alive.

A Personal Reflection

Take a moment to ask yourself:

• What is my current quality of being?
• How do I want to show up for myself and others today?

The answers may surprise you, and they will certainly guide you toward a more intentional, fulfilling life.

So, what quality of being will you choose to embody today?

About Shoshannah

Hi, my name is Shoshannah Phoenix. I work with individuals, couples, and families, especially where things feel complicated, tangled, or hard to make sense of.

My work uniquely blends talking therapy, my own mindscaping, functional medicine, cutting edge genetic testing, and natural holistic solutions to whatever ails you. I help people understand how their nervous system, body, thoughts, emotions, and relationships are connected - and how these patterns shape health, behaviour, and connection over time.

Many of the people I work with have complex or long-standing challenges. They may be living with anxiety, emotional overwhelm, OCD, trauma, chronic stress, complex health issues, neurodivergence, relationship difficulties, or patterns that seem to repeat across generations. Rather than looking at one piece in isolation, I work with the whole picture.

This is gentle, collaborative work. We move at a pace that feels safe and manageable, working with your system rather than pushing it. Whether we are working one-to-one or with couples and families, my role is to help you understand yourself more clearly, feel more regulated and supported, and find a way forward that truly fits you.

I am right here… how can I help you?
